Fortune REPAIR (Highest Skid)

On a sailboat, and in any place where there are mechanisms in motion, they are subject to wear. These elements should last a number of hours, but sometimes the wear is faster. You may also have been an over-exertion, and therefore a part has lasted for less than it should.

On the boat we have spare’s parts, but not for all the pieces, and this has been the case.
Providing ideas and tinking in the material available on board, something manages to make a function that piece as it did before the break. This is what is known as a “restoration of fortune, sometimes enduring what they have to endure and sometimes not, but you can usually pull through.
In this example, turned the skid of the mainsail, in which the luff of the sail slides and in turn holds the bottom rail. This skate broken with its axis off-site, part of the luff was released. There was no more than remove the shaft completely and using the holes in the skate and sail to a sort of stitched them together and put to work the sail again.
